REV. GEORGE W. DANIELS
A native of Donaldsonville, Georgia Rev. Daniels accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age ten. He later accepted his call into the ministry in January 1973 and was ordained in August of the same year. He graduated from Alabama State University and began a career in teaching with the Chicago Public Schools that spanned thirteen years. He later attended DePaul University and earned his Masters of Divinity from Northern Theological Seminary.
He served as Assistant Pastor of First Baptist Congregational Church of Chicago for thirty years and on March 23, 2003, he was elected to succeed retiring pastor, Dr. Arthur D. Griffin as senior pastor.
Reverend Daniels, being a philosophical teacher in his own right served over forty years as a civic and spiritual leader. He currently serves as:
Commissioner of Retirement & Annuity for the National Missionary Baptist District of America
Moderator of North Woodriver Baptist District Association
President of the Interfaith Organizing Project of Greater Chicago (1987 – current)
Developed a partnership with Heartland & Associates for Viceroy Hotel SRO Renovation Project which included 86 newly rehabbed units.
Created support opportunities between FBCC and Countryside Orphanage, Fomena Clinic and Elementary School in Brakwa, Ghana
